Yesterday i went for some iceskating to Amsterdam. The skating was perfect. You can rent  skates (4.50E) or have your own ones, open from 11h-24h, and some kids had a brilliant idea of putting chairs inside the icerink, so it’s impossible to fall,you skate with the chair as a help!! and u can go out, take a rest and go in again…i went there nearly 3h!! The problem now are the blisters in my feet, for the skates, damn …Actually, there are 2 icerinks: the one in Damrak, small and full of water, and 5E (crappy one), and the better one, not so big but good, in Leidseplein…

And today, sunday, it snowed in Utrecht!! After a party yesterday, i woke up at 13h, and all was white!! so maybe having another week of cold weather, and more snow… And, in 6 days,Sinterklaas is coming to town!!!

El finde pasado estuve en Estocolmo con Fran y Marián, amigos de Madrid. Ellos llegaron desde Finlandia, y yo, desde Holanda. Tras el retraso por la ventolera que soplaba en Amsterdam, conseguimos llegar a Estocolmo. Cuando estábamos aterrizando, sobre esa pista nevada, me pregunté ” pero que hago yo aquí con la que está cayendo??” Pero bueno, con la ropa de nieve se está muy a gusto y calentita. El primer día vi el museo de Arte Moderno, luego fuimos al centro de la ciudad, Gamla Stan, vimos todo por allí y también el mercadito navideño, con sus “wursts” y su “glog” (glüwein sueco). Qué riiico!!!Por la tarde, a patinar a la pista de hielo de Kungsträdgarden, y por las noches, intentos de buscar lugares de jazz sin éxito, así que volvimos a Gamla Stan. El domingo, me di en patear la ciudad desde mi B&B, in Karlaplan (la dueña era una abuelita encantadora) hasta el centro, y luego a ver también el observatorio (por fuera). De nuevo a patinar, y  a Gamla Stan a por las últimas cosas. El lunes por la mañana, intento de encontrar el jardín botánico en la Universiteit, bajo medio metro de nieve…desistí, y al aeropuerto de vuelta. Hasta que conseguimos salir y descongelaron el avión (con una especie de jabón rojo) tardamos 2h…Pero que bonito!! Qué blanco es Estocolmo…en Noviembre! A ver si pongo fotos pronto..

Last Saturday we transformed the initial “Mexican fajita party” at home into a birthday surprise one, and was so good! Niki was so amazed, she didn’t suspect anything… and after blowing the candles on the BRILLIANT cakes prepared by Sandra, and lots of presents (she looked like Sinterklaas when she left) , we started with the fajitas and mojitos till having a mood of dancing sirtakis… and even rumbas and lambada!! I’ll hang the pics soon!

Finally, the Supertuesday had the best end and starting  that we can imagine. Let’s see if we can keep on dreaming and increasing rights after 4 years, and  keep track of these issues:

Pues ayer sábado, con las mismas, me fui a Haarlem, pero no al Harlem de una sola “a” y de New York, sino el de al lado de Amsterdam (mal negocio hicieron los holandeses vendiendo Nueva Amsterdam, que luego sería NY).  La foto es la Grote Kerk de St. Bavo (quién sería el pavo ése?), y la otra, es la basílica del mismo nombre de Cuypers.
